The world seemed to be spinning out of control and there was nothing she could do to stop it as she held her brother against her. The hand which had been gripping her own so tight had loosened and falling and breath no longer cause his chest to move. Nothing seemed real as she looked at Davina as the tears streamed down the girl's face.
Finn had cursed their brother to lead a lonely life and die alone but the curse was actually what had brought them all together. There had been such a change in Kol since he met Davina and she knew the girl was the reason but what she had never wanted was to be here as Davina lost another boy she loved. Tim had been hard enough but at least in that relationship she hadn't known the boy. However now it was her brother who lay dead in her lap.
She had thought she would never hate any of her siblings that there was nothing any of them could do to cause her to truly hate them but she was wrong. She hated Finn with her entire being and if she were a vampire she could only imagine the feelings that would be warring inside of her. Tears rolled down her cheek as she threw her head back and screamed before the sobs began to wrack her body.
In his last moments Rebekah hadn't wanted to show weaken she had needed to be strong for her brother. He was already in so much pain and she wanted him to know it was alright to move on. Her words weren't just for show, despite his promise to return her to her body before he died she didn't hate him or care. She would live out her entire human life in this body if it meant she could have her brother back.
Moving her hand over his chest it stopped over his heart which was no longer beating in his chest. To most he had seemed like a heartless monster but much like Nik he had been a sweet boy who the world changed. She and her brothers had helped with that as well no mater how innocent they wanted to think they were.
Kol had only ever wanted to be included following them around and wanting to play. He and Nik would spare with always lead to problems with their father. Even as a child he had played so many tricks on them all but it was always in good nature and was never malicious.
Nearing down she touched her forehead to Kol's her tears sliding down her cheeks and on to his face. "I promise I won't forget the promise I made. I already lost you once and I'm sorry I did so little then." No matter the tricks he played she knew that he had always wanted in his life and it broke her heart that he hadn't gotten it until he was on his death bed. Kol had never been more surrounded by love than in his final moments.
Looking over at Davina the girl sobbed as if her heart were breaking and Rebekah had no doubt the girl was indeed shattered. She wanted to say something but all she could do was reach over and hold the girl's hand. She didn't know how long they sat like that but every moment that she looked into her brother's face filled her with rage.
Freya had said to tell her brothers that she was coming for them. Well if Finn or Freya thought they were going to take away anyone else she loved that had another thing coming to them. Finn and Freya may have each other but Elijah and Nik had her and she refused to ever allow this feeling of sorrow and uselessness to weigh on her again. She could do nothing for Kol but she would make damn sure there was something she could do for Elijah and Nik and that Kol would spend little time with the ancestors but first they needed to consecrate his remains.
