Standing before Sophie, Davina tried her best to mentally prepare herself for what would inevitably come, her death. She could feel the magic that she carried inside her ripping her body apart, trying to escape. As much as she didn't want to die, Davina wanted to do the right thing and killing an entire community because of her fear, was not it. The blade of the knife pressed against her skin and Davina's eyes closed. Her throat burned as the knife slid through her flesh like butter and Davina fell into Marcel's arms. Looking into his eyes, Davina wanted to say something that would offer him some comfort but did not have the energy to form the words. She felt herself being pulled closer to oblivion and within moments, she was gone.

Cold darkness was the only thing that greeted Davina as she crossed over to the other side. She had expected much more than the all consuming emptiness; she thought the ancestors would be there to greet her, to share their wisdom and guidance.

"Monique?"

Davina closed her eyes and felt hot tears sting her eyes. She wished with all her heart that she could go back. She wanted to see Marcel again. Hell, she'd even be happy to see Klaus at this point.

She wasn't sure how long she had been there when Davina heard it. A voice called out to her, as softly as a breeze. Standing up Davina smiled and walked in the direction she thought she had heard the voice come from. The ancestors were calling her to commune with them.
