Elena Gilbert and Cami O'Connell like this

The city was loud with music and people as he walked down Bourbon street. It had been a lot time since he'd last been allowed life in his city and that life had been cut short due to the child Elijah and Niklaus has become so fond of. He'd been daggered in a box for a long while and then the dagger had been pulled from his chest in Mystic Falls.
Now that had been a fun little town, well at least until his Mother had decided to try and kill them all, that bit of it hadn't been a high point that was for sure. Then shortly after one of the Five had come to town which had sent every thing into a tail spin. It wasn't the Five that he had feared but what they protected. The Five and Professor Shane knew of the cure but few knew of Silas, Shane did and he sought him for the same reason Kol had feared him.
From the other side he had seen it all go wrong as the hunt for the cure had continued with Jeremy Gilbert leading the way after killing him and causing the death of every vampire he sired. A whole bloodline of Originals had been killed by a new vampire and a hunter who was more incompetent that any he'd ever faced. Though he had to admit watching them all suffer due to what they had awoken had brought him sick pleasure, Stefan, Elena, Bonnie, Jeremy, Damon and Caroline had all paid for what they had awoken and he had tried to warn them after all.
Now that was all in the past, he was alive in a new body in a city that was all too familiar despite the time that had passed. The New Orleans witches were as strong as ever thanks to the Harvest and he knew they would be. The only downside to being back among the world of the living was the fact that he was reunited with the part of his family he hated the most, his moral mother who hated what she had created and Finn would may as well have still been sucking her tit even after all this time.
This human body was soft and vulnerable to heat, cold and pretty much everything and though as a vampire his senses and emotions had been heightened he felt like he could feel more now as a human. His mother had said that humanity was a gift, along with this life and as long as he did what he was told he would be allowed to keep it. If his mother was aware of his connection of the New Orleans witches or the witch community in general she didn't lead on which left him with the advantage and one he wanted to hold on to as long as possible. His mother may have no power but he was no fool nor new to the world of magic and witches even if he hadn't been able to wield his own magic in a long time.
There was a freedom in being human he was free of hunger and blood lust, he needed nothing other than food and water to sustain himself and it was amazing. Of course he missed the strength and abilities that came with being an Original vampire but to be returned to his roots wasn't something he was complaining about. Walking past a club he paused and walked backwards looking at the sign above the door, it had been a club for vampires before the wolves had run the vampires from the Quarter and the witches had then taken power.
Pulling the wallet from his back pocket he flashed the ID that was no his own. He'd asked his mother where his body had come from and the only answer she'd given was it had come from someone who no longer needed it, leave it to his Mum to answer a question without actually answering it. The music was loud as strobe lights flicked making him feel like he was moving through the rapidly turned pages of a book.
It was a strange pulsating beat created with pounding noises that he found himself liking, maybe it had been something the original owner of this body had enjoyed. A girl with bleach blond hair which seemed to glow white under the black lights moved towards him and started to grind against him. In his old body it had taken only a little to cause people to run and yet this girl found it easy to approach him now. Sliding his hands down her sides and to her hips he pulled her against him not having felt a warm female body in some time.
A throat cleared behind him and pain seemed to spread through his skull as he growled turning to face the new body of his brother Finn. The asshole still hadn't grown any on him even if they were supposed to be working together. "I believe Mother told you to find Davina Claire, this is not where Davina is Kol. You weren't brought back to fornicate and enjoy the parts of life you turned your back on."
Yes he knew what his mother had asked but he didn't understand how one witch could be so important. Something about Davina set his mother on edge and he wanted to find out what but he was also struggling with the fact that he wasn't one to take orders in the first place. "She's just one girl Finn, you might not be charismatic and charming but I've got that part covered. It's a school night and past eleven I don't think I've much change of running into her in general so how about you got back to being up Mother's ass so I can enjoy this city for just one night."
It was easy to tell that Finn was trying to continue to spell to cause him pain but Finn was less skilled than he was about he was about to make that known. Chanting under his breath Finn double over blood seeping from between his lips and trickling from the corner of his mouth as he looked at Kol is disgust and mild fear. "Go back to mother Finn and leave me be."
Finn was never one to back down but he seemed to realize without mother this was not a fight of magic he could win. As much as he wanted to put Finn in a grave he would quickly find himself there as well if he made that choice. For now he was on his own but if Davina was as powerful as his mother seemed to think she was then he had no intention of bringing her to his mother's side, he'd keep her for himself. A smirk grew on his face as he moved to the bar and ordered a double shot and tossed it back before heading back to the dance floor his head feeling lighter already. Tomorrow he'd seek out Davina Claire but for tonight he was going to enjoy his return to life.
